Water and speaker care
Water in a phone speaker: what to do instead of rice
Rice is a messy shortcut. A better approach is to remove external moisture, let the device dry, and use a controlled speaker sweep only when the phone is ready.
A clear sequence
- Power down or disconnect the phone from accessories if it is showing a liquid warning.
- Blot the exterior with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Leave the phone in a dry, ventilated place rather than packing the ports with particles.
- Use a water-eject sweep after the outside is dry, then run a brief sound check.
- Seek device support if distortion remains or the phone will not charge.
This page is a practical care guide, not a guarantee that a wet device has avoided internal damage.
