Water and speaker care
How to clear water from an iPhone speaker safely
Use a calm, repeatable sequence after a splash: remove the source of moisture, run a measured audio sweep, and check the result without forcing the speaker.
A clear sequence
- Move the phone away from the water and remove its case or cable.
- Place the speaker openings facing down and wipe the outside dry.
- Run a short water-eject sweep, then pause and listen for a clearer channel.
- Use a speaker test or recording to compare the sound before and after.
- If iOS shows a liquid warning, follow the device warning and allow the connector to dry.
A water-eject tool is most useful when it is part of a simple check, rather than a reason to keep playing audio while the phone is still wet.
